Remedial massage is purely therapeutic massage designed for the individual to regain better mobility and range of motion. In general, it should not be so painful that the client is apprehensive to return for further treatment. During the massage, there will be some discomfort, but this should ease and be completely gone within two days, by which time better range of motion should be noticed.
The techniques used are designed to get the quickest result for the client and to help re-align any muscles that have been over-used or over-strained for a period of time. This is not a once-only method, and one remedial massage will NOT correct all postural problems, as the body will always continually try to return to the position it has been "trained" to be held in. Cell memory and muscle memory are the keys here, where it takes continual repetition of retraining to finally get the muscles and cells to learn new positions.
