Remedial massage is therapeutic massage designed to help the individual to gain better mobility and range of motion. The techniques used are designed to get the quickest result for the client and to help improve the function of muscles that have been over-used or over-strained for any length of time. Generally this is not a once-only treatment to cure all. One remedial massage will NOT correct all muscular problems, as the body will continually try to return to the position it has become accustomed to. Cell memory and muscle memory are the keys here, where it takes continual repetition of retraining to finally get the muscles and cells to learn new positions.
During the massage, there will be some discomfort, but this should ease and be completely gone within two days, by which time better range of motion should be noticed.
