Hello, I'm Alison McWhirter
Hello, I'm Alison McWhirter
Welcome to my world of massage. It’s been over twelve (12) years since I qualified for my Diploma of Remedial Massage. Since then I have learned many things along the way, including Oncology Massage, which is very specialised for people dealing with cancer and the cancer therapies. I have also learned about massaging the throat and myofascial therapy for the skull, which releases headaches and migraines. My favourite treatment of all, is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) which covers so many ailments. The main use for MLD is Lymphodema and Lipodema which can appear similar, but have very different underlying causes, which, of course, mainly affect women.
Prior to learning massage, I had worked for about 21 years in the finance section of an insurance company, and before that I had many varied jobs in England for about two (2) years. Most of the time I worked at the BBC, and even did a six (6) week stint in The Houses of Parliament. After leaving school I had a job working at the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, and while I was at school, I had a part-time job at the local saddlery shop.
My favourite thing about treating people with massage is when they leave feeling and moving so much better than when they came in. Most people don’t realise that the slightest misalignment in the body has a flow-on effect to all your other movements. That’s when you start to get the “little niggles” or an “occasional twinge in my back”.
So if you think you might be one of those people, then please contact me, and let me see what I can help you with.
My Mission
My mission is to provide relief for as many people as possible. Relief from pain and discomfort, muscle tension, mental tension, headaches and migraines, stiff joints and to help make movement as easy as possible.
